L.L.Bean Summer Kids’ Camp

L.L.Bean’s Outdoor Summer Camp takes place on the scenic shores of Casco Bay in Freeport, offering kids a hands-on opportunity to explore Maine’s outdoors by land and sea. Campers are guided by expert instructors and experienced counselors through small-group activities that may include kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, archery, fly casting, geocaching, camp crafts, and outdoor games.

In addition to active play, campers learn about the ecology and natural history of this unique coastal environment. All campers participate in the low ropes course, while older campers also take on the high ropes challenge, building confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

The program emphasizes a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment, allowing children to try new activities, stretch their comfort zones, and grow more confident outdoors. At the start of the week, campers receive an L.L.Bean carabiner, and as they complete activities, they earn skills tags that represent the new abilities and confidence they’ve gained.

Camp runs daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (7 hours) and is offered from June through August.
