Lubec Channel Lighthouse

Lubec Channel Lighthouse, established in 1890, is a distinctive sparkplug-style lighthouse situated in the Lubec Channel near Lubec, Maine. Positioned approximately 500 feet from the Canada–United States border, it serves as a crucial navigational aid for vessels traveling between the Bay of Fundy and the St. Croix River. The lighthouse features a white conical tower atop a black pier, standing 53 feet above mean high water. Originally equipped with a 155mm lens, it emits a white flash every six seconds and is accompanied by a foghorn sounding once every 15 seconds. Automated in 1939, the lighthouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 and sold to a private owner in 2007. While not open to the public, it remains an active aid to navigation and can be viewed from nearby vantage points or by boat.
