Narraguagus Lighthouse

Narraguagus Lighthouse, also known as Pond Island Light, was established in 1853 on the east side of Pond Island in Narraguagus Bay, Maine, to aid navigation for the bustling lumber trade from Milbridge. The 31-foot cylindrical granite tower, originally integrated with the keeper’s dwelling, was later modified in 1875 with a new keeper’s house and connected via an L-shaped workroom. The tower was reinforced with brick in 1894. Deactivated in 1934, the lighthouse is now privately owned and not open to the public, but it can be viewed by boat.
